Why Diets Don't Work?

You start a diet and pay a fortune for it then you lose 5 - 10 pounds. What happens next? You gain it back because you go back to your old ways. Thats exactly why most diets don't work because they are what they are "diets". They are short term but you want long term goals.
In my opinion, most diets dont work and only a few really work. Why? Well because some diets focus on just shredding weight fast and thats it! Diets can be important because they jump start the weight loss and get us motivated to live a healthy lifestyle. However, there are very few that are focused on losing and keeping it off by changing your lifestyle for the better.

Maybe you have tried to lose weight and failed. Maybe you have lost weight and gained it back. It really does not matter what you have tried and what has not worked for you. When it comes to permanent weight loss, its more about your habits and attitude. If you change your habits and attitude for the short term, you will have short term results. If you change your habits and attitude for the long term, you will have long term results. This is why you need a realistic diet & exercise plan that can work for you. Every person is different and you have to be honest with yourself. When a good diet becomes a lifestyle, then it does not become a diet anymore.

Lets be honest, Can you eat cottage cheese and eggs all day forever? Probably not. You might feel overweight right now and not motivated? Guess what? Its ok to feel this way under your circumstances. Lets focus on living a better lifestyle rather then losing weight. Is your happiness centered around losing weight or feeling and living better? I would hope to think its the second one. Thus, dont be so hard on yourself and remember that is you for now. Tommorow you can already start to feel better about yourself. With time, you will be able to run, go out and look great. The key is patience and lifestyle modification. Don't waste your money on pills because they are not needed. Here are some tips on how you can change your lifestyle and lose weight.

1. Exercise - set out time each week to exercise 3 - 4 times at least 30 minutes.
2. Eat Healthy - Try to eat more healthy than bad foods and eat in small portions.
3. Avoid Alcohol - Try not to drink alcohol or limit your intake.
4. Drink Water - Drink enough water according to your weight and height.
5. Avoid Fuzzy Drinks - They usually dont help because they are high in sugar.
6. Quit Smoking!- this is a big one and is important.

The fact that you are reading this blog, you are interested in a lifestyle change. I am really glad to hear that and I want to be honest with you. By using the above information, some of you will lose weight and some will lose motivation. Motivation is what keeps us losing weight and keeping that weight off. Why people lose motivation is because they go back to their old lifestyle. What makes them go back to their lifestyle? There are many reasons that include habit, friends, family, job, etc.

Some people (possibly you) need certain tools to keep them motivated in losing weight and maintaing that healthy lifestyle. I have reviewed some programs which I believe are effective enough to give you that "kick" to start losing weight and keep it off. As long as you are able to stick to them, you will be able to achieve your short term goals. However, keep in mind that permanent weight loss will last as long as you maintain your lifestyle. Remember, that a healthy lifestyle is nothing hard and you can continue to eat your favorite foods. When I look at my lifestyle, I can tell you exercise & food makes such a big difference in how I feel and think. I hope you can do the same for yourself.
